24 is Crack

If you haven’t ever watched 24 I suggest you don’t start. It is like crack heroine. This show is seriously addictive. I may need to join a 12-step program or something. Just not until after I have watched them all.

The season takes place over one day. Each episode shows the events of one hour of the day staring at midnight. All the events are happening real time and weave in many seperate storylines. The first season revolves around a plot to assisinate a presidential candidate. The government agent assigned to find the killer before he succeeds is in deeper than he knows as his wife and daughter get kidnapped and help by the killers. And just to make sure that he is fighting an uphill battle, he learns that some of the agency’s own people are helping the enemy and he can’t trust his own people.

There are enough plot twists to keep everyone guessing. Each main plot line has several side plotlines that begin to weave themselves together. Add all of that together and you have a show that is quite possibly the most addictive substance on the planet.

The wife and I started watching on recommendation of my brother (himself, a addict). We have been getting the discs via our NetFlix account and we can’t decide if that is a good thing or not. Once we get a disc we watch all of the shows on the disc (there are 4) in one night. Then we send it it back and wait for the next disc. The wait is a bit tortuous for us. But if we had the whole season we would probably watch the whole thing in one day. It is that addicting.
