After seeing this I don’t think that anything will really surprise me anymore. We all knew that Apple had officially stated that they would do nothing to prevent the install of Windows on their machines. But I don’t think anyone saw them helping you do it.
When the hack was announced a few weeks ago I was kind of excited. I don’t really have a need to run Windows myself, but having the option would be awesome. I do realize that for many people this would be a major benefit and should increase sales of Intel Macs.
Now Apple has practically sanctioned the installation of Windows on Macs and one-ups the hack. They are providing drivers for almost all of the things that were missing from the hack method. The big one is graphic drivers so the Windows partition can take full advantage of the GPU.
This will be awesome when I get my MacBook Pro this fall. I will definitely install this on there, even if I use it only occasionally. I still look forward to a virtual machine option so that I don’t have to reboot. Dad, time to sell your old Mac and that PC laptop and buy and Intel iMac.
