GMail Update
http://digitalsandbox.us/wp-content/gmail_logo.gif” alt=“GMail Logo” />It’s official! I love GMail. They keep adding great new features that make using it like using a desktop based email program. I can’t wait for them to release some sort of API so we can start really integrating this service with our desktops. I would like to see a plugin for iSync that will sync my Addressbook, with the Contact list. I’m sure others will think of more creative ideas.
I am starting to enjoy the storage space as well. It is so nice to be able to store a ton of emails somewhere other than my hard drive (this feature is especially near to my heart right now as I have recently lost all my old emails on my desktop machine). And I can access them from any Web connected computer (this is really handy for me with home, work, and school). I have finally registered an actual “size used” in the counter on the bottom now. 1MB of 1000MB! That is still 0%, but it finally says something besides 0MB. That with over 100 messages stored (received and sent). At this rate I will be able to store over 100,000 emails in my GMail account.
If they ever allow me to check them through my email program on my desktop (hopefully, via IMAP service) I just might forward everything to this account. They probably won’t as they are trying to promote ad clicks, but why not just include an ad banner at the bottom of each email viewed in the desktop app? I’m sure they can think of someway to make this happen.
If I ever get any more invites I will be sure to post them.
