Holiday Music

Banner As The Wife was driving me to work today a Christmas song came over the radio. “Oh boy! Christmas is almost here,” says The Wife, “are you getting excited?”

“I’m trying not to,” was my response. You see, I am a holiday purist. I try to celebrate every holiday in it’s season. I can’t stand the early start that Christmas gets over other holidays. Don’t get me wrong, I love Christmas. It is my favorite time of the year. The music, the decorations, the giving, the weather, everything is perfect. I just like to give every holiday it’s fair shake.

We then began a short discussion as to why we always in a rush to get to the Christmas season. The quick answer is because companies want us to start buying loads of their stuff so they can make more money. But why is it that we don’t really seem to mind having it foisted upon us like this? Why is Christmas better than Thanksgiving whenthe two share a lot of similarities? As The Wife pointed out to me, there is no Thanksgiving music. I think that is one of the things that make Christmas so special. What other time of the year has it’s own music? I can’t think of any.

So to that end I present you with this link to the iTunes Music Store. Where you will be treated to a selection of Christmas music for your enjoyment. The Wife and I are going to acquire some more holiday music to keep us in the Christmas spirit this year and we want to get it done early. The Christmas season is hectic enough with the shopping and decorating and whatever else is going on. Do you really think you will have time after Thanksgiving to get your holiday music collection in order?

This is not to be construed as me abandoning my stance on when it is okay to begin the Christmas season. I mean, its not like I’m telling you you have to listen to it yet. I’m just advocating being prepared to welcome the impending Christmas season. So hold off on the tree and the decorations for another week or so. But get your music now. Then you will be ready for all the shopping/decorating/baking/what-not that will begin in earnest November 26th…the day Christmas begins.

How quickly will I get my goods? It is well worth delving into the online shop’s customer service section to find out when and how your goods will be delivered.
