I just wanted to let everyone know that I think that The Return of the King: Extended Edition is awesome. One thing that struck me on this one is that I either didn’t know the theatrical release as well as I knew the previous two or the extended scenes were more subtle in this one. I could easily pick out all the new additions to existing scenes in the previous films, but I didn’t really notice that many things jumping out at me in this film. It seems that Peter Jackson would just add in a few lines of dialog or something similar making it harder to notice the new stuff. I am not saying that this is a bad thing, infact, some of the added dialog is really nice and adds more depth to the story/scene. That is just an impression I had while watching it. Of course, the new scenes were easy to spot and well worth the wait. I will write up a more formal review later, but thought you should know that it rocks.
