Why is every USB port on a Dell computer or monitor installed upside down? I have a fairly decent Dell here at work and I use my USB flash drive on it all day long. It?the drive not the Dell?has a small light on it to let me know when it is writing data and so forth. My iPod Shuffle has a similar light on it and, of course, the controls. No matter what port I plug them into?I have 2 on the front of the machine and two on the side of the monitor?they end up upside down so I can’t see the lights/controls.
It is the same on the Dells at school so I know it’s a Dell thing. If I plug either device into the Macs at school or at home, or another brand of PC at school, or a USB hub, they are right side up. Why did Dell decide to install them upside down? It seems like such a little thing; but if it is just a little thing, then why can’t they get it right? It is a pain when I need to recharge the iPod at work and want to listen to it while it does it’s thing. All of my buttons are facing either down or away from me.
